This session will examine the overall structure and design of foundational skills mini-lessons and the connections that are made to phonological and phonemic awareness, as well as the phonics scope and sequence of instruction. Participants will understand the foundational skills connections to shared reading, writing, and leveled texts.

Utilizing a modeled lesson, text talk, and comprehension activities, you will practice valuable skills to pre-plan successful read aloud lessons. This session will examine the overall structure and design of word study mini-lessons. Understand how word study is taught in weekly mini lessons using the Texts for Close Reading, scope and sequence of instruction, word study resources, and additional practice opportunities.
We will cover how to leverage student journaling in Imagine Math to deepen students' understanding of mathematics and provide them an avenue to explain their reasoning in multiple ways. Additionally, we will provide an overview of the reports available in Imagine Math and how to incorporate the reporting features in your student data reviews.
