This session will highlight resources and services offered by the Teaching Resources Center of Joyner Library at East Carolina University to educators in eastern North Carolina. Topics will include Preschool through Grade 12 curriculum materials, textbooks, and outreach services. Active learning will be discussed and participants are encouraged to use resources of the Teaching Resources Center to provide active learning in the classroom.
The presentation will cover resources available from NCLive for teachers and students. We will cover how to access the resources and give a basic overview of multiple programs.

Edgenuity can be used for students who are absent or who are having trouble understanding a concept. Design assignments for pre-requisite skills for upcoming concepts or to align to your pacing guide.
Are you ready to rumbbllleeee!!!??? (With rigor!) Attendees will participate in a fast-paced, interactive session that dives into the three main tenants of rigorous instruction in a classroom. Attendees will move through several instructional rounds where they will "wrestle" with activities investigating their own beliefs and definitions of rigor; evaluating what is and isn't rigor; and squashing many common myths about rigor.

However, I use a notebook system within my classroom that helps to keep the student organize, ahead with the workload and the learning is at a pace that they can follow well. In this session, I will share that notebook with participants while highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of this notebook system.
