Google Classroom 101 is intended for those who are unfamiliar and have never used Google Classroom. There will be tips on how to use Google Classroom for exit tickets (DDI), ECPS 5, student choice, and collaboration.
Explore the Edgenuity courses that are available to use for credit recovery and the Edgenuity management system. We will look at progress monitoring, best practices, and daily routines. Edgenuity course editions, what’s new, and end-of-year procedures will be reviewed. Goal setting and conferencing will be looked at as an integral part of any credit recovery program. Academic Integrity policies and procedures will be discussed.

Google Classroom 2.0 is intended for teachers who are already using Google Classroom, but want more ideas on how to use it. Teachers in this session will be able to collaborate with fellow ECPS teachers and see some different ways to use Google Classroom.

This session will highlight resources and services offered by the Teaching Resources Center of Joyner Library at East Carolina University to educators in eastern North Carolina. Topics will include Preschool through Grade 12 curriculum materials, textbooks, and outreach services. Active learning will be discussed and participants are encouraged to use resources of the Teaching Resources Center to provide active learning in the classroom.

Explore the Edgenuity courses and learn how to customize to use in your classroom to support instruction for individual students or for your entire class. Edgenuity can be used for students who are absent or who are having trouble understanding a concept. Design assignments for pre-requisite skills for upcoming concepts or to align to your pacing guide.

Want to be able to quatitatively target which goals and objectives your students need remediation on and which they are excelling at? Then maybe its time to make the switch to mastery-based grading! Come learn how this method can transform your classroom into a more student-centered environment. Presentation will include: basics of implementation of mastery-based grading in a high school class, best practices for authentic use of data, tips and tools, and problems of practice and FAQs.
For teachers, working with OCS studens can be a challenge for both the teacher and student. However, I use a notebook system within my classroom that helps to keep the student organize, ahead with the workload and the learning is at a pace that they can follow well. In this session, I will share that notebook with participants while highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of this notebook system.
